"The Hour will not be established until trials appear, lying increases, markets become close, time becomes close, and killing increases." It was said: "What is killing?" He said: "Killing." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/519) from Saʿīd ibn Samʿān from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: And this is a sound isnād, its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs except for Saʿīd ibn Samʿān, and he is trustworthy as al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (7/327) and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taqrīb".

"The Hour will not be established until people are showered with a general rain, and the earth does not produce anything." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/140), Abū Yaʿlá (3/1072), and al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (4/1/362) in a suspended form from the path of Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid: Muʿādh ibn Ḥarmalah al-Azdī said: I heard Anas say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it.
