Abū Bakr said: O Messenger of Allāh, instruct me with something I can say in the morning and in the evening. He said: Say... and he mentioned the supplication, and said at the end: "Say it in the morning, in the evening, and when you lie down to sleep." al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: It is as they said. The other: from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAmr similar to the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, except that it adds at the end: "and that I commit evil against myself or drag it to a Muslim." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (1204), al-Tirmidhī (3526), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Duʿāʾāt" (2/924/289), and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan gharīb." al-Ḥāfiẓ strengthened it in "Natāʾij al-Afkār" (2/345-346). I say: Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ. This addition has appeared in "Afʿāl al-ʿIbād" in a narration by al-Bukhārī from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, and it is an error as previously explained under his preceding ḥadīth number (2753), so refer to it if you wish
