trustworthy, and Ibn Abī Thābit, although he was a mudallis, explicitly stated the narration in the following account from Shuʿbah about him, and Dharr is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Murhabī. With this isnād, Ibn al-Sunnī narrated it (293) from another perspective from Isḥāq with it, except that he did not mention (Dharr) in his isnād. I do not know if this was due to the copyist or the printer, or if this was how the narration was with him, for he narrated it from his shaykh Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Baḥr from Isḥāq. Al-Khaṭīb translated Ibn Baḥr and said: He died in the year 299, and he did not mention any criticism or endorsement about him. If he was the one who omitted it, it is evidence that he did not preserve it, so his narration in any case would be irregular, rather rejected. This is further confirmed by the fact that Isḥāq was followed in mentioning Dharr in the isnād by more than one person. 1 - ʿAyāsh ibn al-Walīd al-Raqām - and he is trustworthy among the shaykhs of al-Bukhārī - from Ibn Faḍīl with it. It was extracted by al-Nasāʾī (251/934). 2 - Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Kūfī: Ibn Faḍīl narrated to us with it, and he added: "for it is from the spirit of Allāh ﵎." It was extracted by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad in "al-Musnad" (5/123) who said: My father narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Kūfī... I said: This is how it appeared in it: "My father narrated to us," and I think it was inserted by some of the copyists or the printer, and that the ḥadīth is from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh from Muḥammad ibn Yazīd, so it is from his additions to "the Musnad of his father." Then I saw Ibn Kathīr attribute it to him in "Jāmiʿ al-Masānīd" (1/115/86) and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "Aṭrāf al-Musnad" (1/215/53) and likewise al-Suyūṭī did in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr."
