anyone except al-ʿAjlī. He missed that Ibn Ḥibbān also declared him reliable, as he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (5/135), but he criticized his memory, saying and did not add: "from his father, he did not preserve it." I said: It seems he is referring to this ḥadīth, for his statement: "I heard him say..." apparently means he heard him say that after the prayer when he turned to face them, which contradicts all the preceding paths from al-Barāʾ—some of which are authentic—that he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to say it at bedtime, so the narration of ʿUbayd is, at best, anomalous. Perhaps that is why Abū Dāwūd and Ibn Mājah (1006) did not mention this supplication with the ḥadīth. It is included in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (628). And Allāh knows best. (Another Note): Ibn Taymiyyah attributed it in "al-Kalim al-Ṭayyib" (36/29) to the two Shaykhs, and Ibn al-Qayyim followed him in "al-Wābil," but Muslim did not narrate it as mentioned earlier, and as in "al-Tuḥfah" (3/23-24).

- "If any of you is afflicted with distress or anxiety, let him say: Allāh, Allāh is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (2369 - Mawārid) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/22/2/5423) through the route of Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿArʿarah ibn al-Barand: ʿAtāb ibn Ḥarb Abū Bishr narrated to us, Abū ʿĀmir al-Khazzāz narrated to us from Ibn Abī Mulaykah from ʿĀʾishah: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would gather his family and say: so he mentioned it. Al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from Abū ʿĀmir al-Khazzāz except ʿAtāb, and Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿArʿarah was unique in narrating it."
