- "Shall I not teach you words that the Trustworthy Spirit taught me? It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (2 / 31 / 5547) with the isnād of the previous one from al-Mughīrah ibn Muslim from Hishām ibn Ḥassān from Jubayr from Khālid ibn al-Walīd who said: I used to be frightened at night, so I went to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: I am frightened at night, so I take my sword and strike with it anything I encounter. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. And he said: "This ḥadīth was not narrated from Hishām ibn Ḥassān except by al-Mughīrah ibn Muslim, and Shabābah was unique in narrating it." I said: He is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ, relied upon in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs", and likewise those above him, for they are trustworthy from the men of "al-Tahdhīb" if the shaykh of Hishām ibn Ḥassān is (Jubayr), as his name is unclear in the photographed copy, and it can be read as (Ḥumayd), and each of the possibilities has its supporting evidence.
