It was also recorded by al-Tirmidhī in "al-Shamāʾil" (no. 346) from this perspective, as well as by al-Ḥākim (4/393), who said: "Its isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, as did al-ʿAsqalānī, who said in "Fatḥ al-Bārī" (12/384) after attributing it to al-Ḥākim: "Its chain is good." And its wording with him is: "He said: I said to Ibn ʿAbbās: I saw the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in a dream. He said: Describe him to me. He said: I mentioned al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī and likened him to him, he said: You have seen him." I said: I did not find it in "al-Mustadrak" of al-Ḥākim with this wording. And Allāh knows best. There is a third corroborating narration from Anas, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Whoever sees me in a dream has indeed seen me, for Satan cannot imitate me." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī in "al-Shamāʾil" (349) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/218/2/3906), and its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs. Al-Bukhārī also recorded it (6994) with the wording: ".. does not appear in my form," and the meaning is the same. Al-Munāwī said in "Sharḥ al-Shamāʾil": "(cannot imitate me) means he is unable to appear to anyone in my form, so the meaning of (imitation) is close to the meaning of appearance." Be aware that the ḥadīth has come in the two Ṣaḥīḥs and others with different wordings such as: "does not imitate me," "does not appear in my form," and "does not take my form," all of which have equivalent meanings,
وأخرجه الترمذي في " الشمائل " (رقم - ٣٤٦) من هذا الوجه، وكذا الحاكم (٤ / ٣٩٣) وقال: " صحيح الإسناد ". ووافقه الذهبي، وكذا العسقلاني، فإنه قال في " فتح الباري " (١٢ / ٣٨٤) بعد أن عزاه للحاكم: " وسنده جيد ". ولفظه عنده: " قال: قلت لابن عباس: رأيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في المنام. قال: صفه لي. قال: ذكرت الحسن بن علي فشبهته به، قال: قد رأيته ". قلت: ولم أره في " مستدرك الحاكم " بهذا اللفظ. والله أعلم. وله شاهد ثالث من حديث أنس مرفوعا بلفظ: " من رآني في المنام فقد رآني، فإن الشيطان لا يتخيل بي ". أخرجه الترمذي في " الشمائل " (٣٤٩) والطبراني في " الأوسط " (١ / ٢١٨ / ٢ / ٣٩٠٦) وإسناده صحيح على شرط الشيخين. وقد أخرجه البخاري (٦٩٩٤) بلفظ: ".. لا يتمثل بي "، والمعنى واحد، قال المناوي في " شرح الشمائل ": " (لا يتخيل بي) أي لا يمكنه أن يظهر لأحد بصورتي، فمعنى (التخيل) يقرب من معنى التصور ". واعلم أن الحديث قد جاء في الصحيحين وغيرهما بألفاظ أخرى مثل: " لا يتزايا بي " و " لا يتراءى بي " و " يتكونني "، وكلها متساوية المعاني،
