Al-Aʿraj also followed him from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ manner with the wording: "Every child of Adam is pricked by the devil on his sides with his fingers when he is born, except for ʿĪsá ibn Maryam; he went to prick but was pricked in the veil." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (3286), Aḥmad (2/523), and Ibn Jarīr (3/161). Abū Yūnus Sulaymān, the freed slave of Abū Hurayrah, also followed him in a marfūʿ manner with a similar abridged version. It was narrated by Muslim and Ibn Jarīr. Suhayl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ also followed him from his father from Abū Hurayrah in an abridged manner with the wording: "The crying of the newborn when it falls is a jab from the devil." It was narrated by Muslim and Ibn Jarīr through the chain of Qays from al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ with it, similar to the narration of Saʿīd, and ʿAjlān, the freed slave of al-Mashʿal, followed him from Abū Hurayrah with it similar to the narration of al-Aʿraj, but he mentioned Maryam daughter of ʿImrān and her son ʿĪsá (peace be upon them), without saying: "He went to prick..." It was narrated by Aḥmad (2/288, 292, and 319) and Ibn Jarīr.
