it was mentioned by al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná" (2/84) and he did not mention any criticism or praise, as is his usual practice. However, he was not the only one to narrate it, contrary to what Abū Nuʿaym's previous statement might suggest, for Aḥmad said in "al-Musnad" (5/416): Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Saʿīd al-Jurayrī narrated to us from Abū Naḍrah: someone who heard the khuṭbah of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) during the middle days of tashrīq narrated to me, and he mentioned it. It was also narrated by al-Maḥāmlī in "al-Amālī" (4/44/2) from Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm with the same isnād. I say: This isnād is authentic; all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, except for the one who heard his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) khuṭbah, as he was not named, but this does not harm [the isnād], because he is a Companion, and all the Companions are considered just, as established in the science of ḥadīth terminology. Therefore, Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah said in "al-Iqtiḍāʾ" (p. 69): "Its isnād is authentic." Ismāʿīl was followed up by al-Ḥārith, who said in "al-Musnad - Zawāʾiduh" (folio 9/2): ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAṭāʾ narrated to us: Saʿīd al-Jurayrī narrated it with the same isnād. I say: This is a strong corroboration, as ʿAbd al-Wahhāb is a trustworthy narrator from the narrators of Muslim in "Ṣaḥīḥ". However, Abū al-Mundhir al-Warrāq differed, saying: from al-Jurayrī from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd in a marfūʿ form, without the verse and what follows it. It was narrated by Abū al-Shaykh in "al-Tawbīkh" (259/245) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/292/1/4885) and he said: "It was not narrated from al-Jurayrī except by Abū al-Mundhir al-Warrāq, and it is not narrated from Abū Saʿīd except with this isnād."
