I said: it is very weak, because Abū al-Mundhir al-Warrāq—whose name is Yūsuf ibn ʿAṭiyyah al-Bāhilī—is abandoned as stated in "al-Taqrīb". However, al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/84): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and al-Bazzār similarly... and the men of al-Bazzār are the men of (al-Ṣaḥīḥ)." Thus he said, and I have reviewed the isnād of al-Bazzār and its wording through "Zawāʾid al-Bazzār" by al-ʿAsqalānī (p. 248). He extracted it through the route of Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān from al-Jarīrī with it, except that he said: "from Abū Naḍrah—he said: and I do not know it except—from Abū Saʿīd..." so he mentioned it as a marfūʿ, abbreviated with the wording: he said in a khuṭbah he delivered: "Indeed, your father is one, and your religion is one, your father is Ādam, and Ādam was created from dust." And al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it to be narrated from Abū Saʿīd except from this route." I said: it is authentic, its men are trustworthy, the men of al-Ṣaḥīḥ as al-Haythamī said, except that the narrator doubted somewhat in his Companion, which does not harm, because all the Companions are just as previously mentioned. And Allāh knows best. And the ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from Ibn ʿUmar that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) addressed the people on the day of the conquest of Mecca, saying: "O people, indeed Allāh has removed from you the arrogance of the pre-Islamic era and its pride in ancestors. People are of two kinds: a pious, righteous man who is honorable to Allāh, and a wicked, miserable man who is insignificant to Allāh. People are the children of Ādam, and Allāh created Ādam from dust. Allāh said: *O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female...* to His saying: *Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allāh is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Acquainted*."
