Al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from al-Jarīrī except Shaddād. Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm was unique in narrating it." I say: This is incorrect, for Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān followed him: Shaddād ibn Saʿīd al-Jarīrī narrated it to us. It was narrated by al-Bayhaqī (2/125/2). Thus, the correct statement is what Abū Nuʿaym said in "al-Ḥilyah" (3/100-101) following his isnād from the route of Muslim: "Shaddād was unique in narrating it." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." I say: al-Dhahabī left it blank, but al-Mundhirī reported from him in "al-Targhīb" (3/197) that he said: "Authentic according to their criteria," and he agreed!
