1 - As for the first, second, third, and fourth sections, they were narrated by ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Bahram: Shaher ibn Ḥawshab told us, Abū Ẓibyah informed me that Shuraḥbīl ibn al-Simṭ invited ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah al-Sulamī and said: O Ibn ʿAbasah! Will you tell me a ḥadīth you heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) without any addition or falsehood, and do not narrate to me from another who heard it from him other than you? He said: Yes, I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it at length, including these sections. It was recorded by Aḥmad, and ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntakhab min al-Musnad" (p. 46/2) and its chain of transmission is good in terms of supporting evidence and follow-ups. Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān also followed him: Salīm ibn ʿĀmir told us that ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah was with Shuraḥbīl ibn al-Simṭ and said: O ʿAmr... the ḥadīth. with the second, third, and fourth sections. It was recorded by Aḥmad, and ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd (p. 45/1). And their chain of transmission is authentic. Ṣafwān also followed him, saying: Salīm told me about it. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī, and it was previously mentioned under number (1244). And for the first and fifth sections, there is strong supporting evidence from a ḥadīth of Abū Dharr, raised [to the Prophet]. It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/151, 153, 159, 164) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (1/82/1-2) through the route of al-Ḥasan: Ṣaʿṣaʿah ibn Muʿāwiyah narrated from him, and they added: "We said: What are these two pairs? He said: If they are mounts, then two mounts; if they are horses, then two horsemen; if they are camels, then two camels, until he enumerated all types of wealth." And its chain of transmission is authentic, and al-Nasāʾī has the fifth section from it (2/66)
