ibn Judʿān, and this is from Muḥammad as you can see in "Musnad Aḥmad," and as mentioned in the biographies of these three. Then, regarding the authenticity of the isnād in Aḥmad's collection, considering what we mentioned about the condition of Ibn Judʿān, unless it is meant that it is strong due to other supporting evidence, then yes, it is, as it has been corroborated by al-Bazzār and others. He said in his "Musnad" (no. 1908) - "Kashf al-Astār": Muḥammad ibn Kathīr ibn Bint Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, Sarūr ibn al-Mughīrah Abū ʿĀmir al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us, Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and ʿAmr ibn ʿAlī narrated to us: Ḥātim ibn Wardān narrated to us, ʿAlī ibn Zayd narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir from Jābir with it. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it to be narrated like this except by Sulaymān and ʿAlī ibn Yazīd, and we have not heard it except from Muḥammad from Sarūr." I said: And with the first isnād, it was also extracted by Baḥshal in "Tārīkh Wāsiṭ" (p. 92): Muḥammad ibn Kathīr ibn Nāfiʿ al-Thaqafī ibn Bint Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, Sarūr ibn al-Mughīrah narrated it. He mentioned it in the biography of this Sarūr and called him Abū ʿĀmir, without mentioning any criticism or praise, as is his custom. Ibn Saʿd said in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (7/315): "He used to narrate tafsīr from ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr from al-Ḥasan, and he was known." And he mentioned that he is the son of al-Mughīrah ibn Zādhān, the nephew of Manṣūr ibn Zādhān, and likewise, Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (2/1/325) and said: "He narrated from ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr. Abū Saʿīd Aḥmad ibn Dāwūd al-Ḥaddād narrated from him, I asked my father about him? He said: A shaykh."
