"That is the sunnah of Abū al-Qāsim (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), meaning the traveler completes the prayer when following a resident, otherwise he shortens it." This authentic sunnah is narrated by Qatādah from Mūsá ibn Salamah al-Hudhali from Ibn ʿAbbās (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu).
