It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Kuná" (50/436), ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntakhab" (3/208/1445), and al-Ḥākim (2/82-83), and from him by al-Bayhaqī (4/16-17). I said: al-Ḥākim left it blank, and al-Dhahabī criticized it by saying: "I said: it has a disconnection." This is what he said, but perhaps the correct thing to say is: it has an unknown narrator because this ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is not known except in this narration, and no one authenticated him except Ibn Ḥibbān (5/568) and he explicitly mentioned hearing, so where is the disconnection? It is possible that he means by disconnection the statement of (Ṣāliḥ ibn Kaysān): "He said: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said." But I find this very unlikely, because this Ṣāliḥ is trustworthy and not a mudallis, so there is no difference between his saying: "He said" and his saying: "from" and "mentioned" and the like, as is established in the science of terminology. Third: from ʿUmar ibn Sahl al-Māzinī from ʿUmar ibn Ṣuhbān from Ṣafwān ibn Sulaym from Abū Salamah from him, elevated, similar to it, except that he said: "and an eye from which something like the head of a fly emerged out of fear of Allāh." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (2/262/1659) and others. ʿUmar ibn Sahl al-Māzinī is weak, but he was followed up, so the defect is from his teacher Ibn Ṣuhbān, and he was alone in mentioning this addition: "like the head of a fly," and for this reason, I included his ḥadīth in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (1562 and 5144). 5 - As for the ḥadīth of Anas, it is narrated by Shabīb ibn Bishr from him, elevated, similar to the ḥadīth of al-Tirmidhī. It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (7/307-308) and through him by al-Ḍiyāʾ
