al-Maqdisī in "al-Mukhtārah" (Q 131/1), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (2/54/1/5908), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (7/119) said: "Zāfir ibn Sulaymān was unique in narrating it." I said: He is Abū Sulaymān al-Iyādī, and he is truthful but makes many errors. However, with Abū Yaʿlá, it is from another route through (Shabīb ibn Bishr), who is truthful but errs, so his ḥadīth is ḥasan. With the aforementioned corroborations, it is authentic without doubt, especially since there are two other routes from Anas, one in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (2/360) and the other with al-ʿUqaylī (4/346) and al-Shihāb al-Qaḍāʿī (1/212/321). Al-ʿUqaylī said: "The narration in this chapter is weak, but there is what is better than this isnād." It seems he means the narration of Shabīb ibn Bishr. And Allāh knows best. In summary, the ḥadīth with these routes is authentic according to the strongest opinion. And Allāh knows best.

"I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) kneading in prayer, meaning: leaning." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/239/1 - Islamic University microfilm no. 419 - edition) : ʿAlī ibn Saʿīd al-Rāzī narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Abān informed us, saying: Yūnus ibn Bukayr informed us, saying: al-Haytham ibn ʿAlqamah ibn Qays ibn Thaʿlabah informed us from al-Azraq ibn Qays, who said: I saw ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar kneading in prayer, leaning on his hands when he stood up. I said: What is this, O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān? He mentioned it, and said: "No one narrated this ḥadīth from al-Azraq except al-Haytham, and Yūnus ibn Bukayr was unique in narrating it."
