"Abū Shurayḥ, who is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shurayḥ, said: I heard him after he said: The fire is forbidden to an eye that refrains from what is unlawful to Allāh, or an eye that is blinded in the path of Allāh." al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic." al-Dhahabī agreed with him! This is what he said, although he mentioned Muḥammad ibn Shamīr in "al-Mīzān" and said: "No one narrated from him except ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shurayḥ." No one authenticated him except Ibn Ḥibbān, but Ibn Ḥibbān said: "The Egyptians narrated from him." Ibn al-Qaṭṭān asserted that ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shurayḥ was the only one who narrated from him, and that he is not known as mentioned in "al-Tahdhīb." For this reason, he said in "al-Taqrīb": "Acceptable." Meaning when corroborated. 4 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, it has three paths: the first: from ʿUmar ibn Rāshid al-Yamāmī from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from him with it, except that he said instead of "an eye that refrains from what is unlawful to Allāh": an eye that is blinded in the path of Allāh." The rest is similar. It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (2/82) and from him by al-Bayhaqī (1/488/795) and al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic!" al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying: "I say: ʿUmar was weakened by them." The second: from Ṣāliḥ ibn Kaysān who said: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: I heard Abū Hurayrah say: and he mentioned it similar to the ḥadīth of the chapter except for the third sentence
" قال أبو شريح - وهو عبد الرحمن بن شريح -: وسمعته بعد أن قال: حرمت النار على عين غضت عن محارم الله، أو عين فقئت في سبيل الله ". وقال الحاكم: " صحيح الإسناد ". ووافقه الذهبي! كذا قال مع أنه أورد محمد بن شمير في " الميزان "، وقال: " لم يرو عنه غير عبد الرحمن بن شريح ". ولم يوثقه غير ابن حبان، ولكن ابن حبان قال: " روى عنه المصريون ". وجزم ابن القطان بأن عبد الرحمن بن شريح تفرد بالرواية عنه، وأنه لا يعرف كما في " التهذيب " ولهذا قال في " التقريب ": " مقبول ". يعني عند المتابعة. ٤ - وأما حديث أبي هريرة، فله ثلاث طرق: الأولى: عن عمر بن راشد اليمامي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن عنه به، إلا أنه قال مكان " عين غضت عن محارم الله ": عين فقئت في سبيل الله ". والباقي مثله. أخرجه الحاكم (٢ / ٨٢) وعنه البيهقي (١ / ٤٨٨ / ٧٩٥) وقال الحاكم: " صحيح الإسناد "! ورده الذهبي بقوله: " قلت: عمر ضعفوه ". الثانية: عن صالح بن كيسان قال: قال أبو عبد الرحمن: سمعت أبا هريرة يقول: فذكره نحو حديث الترجمة دون الجملة الثالثة.
