and this is an authentic isnād that is mawqūf. However, there is another marfūʿ path, narrated by Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ḥamzah who said: I heard Yazīd ibn Shajarah in the land of the Romans saying: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it, recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/494). I did not find a biography for ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ḥamzah, and it is possible that he is ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Ḥamzah al-Ḥimṣī, as he is mentioned among the teachers of Ibn ʿAyyāsh, and if it is him, then he is weak. I found a strong corroborator for al-Hāshimī if the isnād to him is established, as Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī said in "al-Fawāʾid" (6/66/1): Muḥammad ibn Yūnus ibn Mūsá al-Qurashī informed us, Yaḥyá ibn Kathīr informed us, Shuʿbah informed us from al-Aʿmash from Mujāhid with it. All the men in the chain are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for this al-Qurashī—who is al-Kadīmī—and he is a liar. However, the ḥadīth is supported by his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "Paradise is under the shade of swords." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Awfá, and Muslim from Abū Mūsá, and it is included in "al-Irwāʾ" (5/6-7).

- "Three whose eyes will not see the Fire on the Day of Resurrection: an eye that wept from the fear of Allāh, an eye that kept watch in the path of Allāh, and an eye that refrained from what is forbidden by Allāh."
