and forbids what is wrong. I said: O Messenger of Allāh! What if he is unable to enjoin what is right or forbid what is wrong? He said: He helps the clumsy. I said: What if he is clumsy and cannot do anything? He said: He assists the overwhelmed. I said: What if he is weak and cannot assist the oppressed?! He said: What good do you want to leave in your companion?! He refrains from harming people. So I said: O Messenger of Allāh, if he does that, will he enter Paradise?! He said: and he mentioned it... I said: And this isnād has all its men documented, and al-Haythamī said (3/135): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr', and its men are trustworthy." I said: And there is apparent leniency in it, for Marthad, the father of Mālik, who is the son of ʿAbd Allāh al-Zamānī, was not authenticated except by Ibn Ḥibbān and al-ʿAjlī, and no one narrated from him except his son, and therefore the ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Acceptable." And Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUmar al-Raqī, Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥākim said: "He narrated ḥadīths that were not corroborated." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt", and said: "He might make mistakes." And Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī corroborated him: ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār informed us... with al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (3/204). But the ḥadīth has another chain that strengthens it, al-Awzāʿī said: Abū Kathīr al-Suḥaymī narrated to me from his father, who said: I asked Abū Dharr, I said: Guide me to an action that if a servant does it, he will enter Paradise? He said: I asked the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), he said: and he mentioned it similarly
