it was narrated only by Mālik ibn Mughawwal from Ismāʿīl, and only by Qabīṣah from him, and his son was the sole narrator of it. I said: He is trustworthy, and al-Nasāʾī said: "Righteous." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt," and those above him are the trustworthy men of the two Shaykhs. ʿAlī ibn Saʿīd al-Rāzī is considered good in ḥadīth, as I explained under ḥadīth (236). Ibn al-Naḥḥās al-Dimyāṭī deemed it good in "Maṣāriʿ al-ʿUshshāq" (1/107), and al-Mundhirī preceded him in "al-Targhīb" (2/200). It is supported by the ḥadīth of al-ʿīnah, which includes: ".. and you abandoned jihād in the way of Allāh, Allāh will impose upon you humiliation which He will not remove until you return to your religion." It is an authentic ḥadīth, as previously explained under number (11). I said: The ḥadīth is among the signs of his prophethood (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as evidenced by the reality of Muslims in many countries, and the incident of the Jews attacking Muslims while they were in prostration during the dawn prayer on Friday in Ramaḍān of this year (1414) in the mosque of Hebron in Palestine is not far off. And Allāh has spoken the truth: "Whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned, and He pardons much" (Sūrah al-Shūrā, 42:30). I ask Allāh, the Exalted, to inspire the Muslims to return to a correct understanding of their religion, and to act upon it, so that He may honor them and grant them victory over their enemy.

- "Whoever says after the morning prayer: 'There is no deity except Allāh alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, He gives life and causes death, in His hand is all good, and He is over all things competent' one hundred times, while still seated, will be the best of the people on earth in deeds that day, except for one who says the same or more than what he said."
