and Muḥammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Ṭāʾī was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim (4/1/64-65) with a narration from another group of trustworthy individuals, and he did not mention any criticism or praise about him. He is according to the criteria of Ibn Ḥibbān in "Thiqāt," but I did not see him in the printed version from India, nor in the manuscript of al-Ẓāhiriyyah. And Salāmah ibn Jawwās, Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (2/1/302): "Abū Zurʿah and Muḥammad ibn ʿAwf al-Ḥimṣī narrated from him." I said: He is trustworthy, because Abū Zurʿah only narrates from trustworthy individuals, as is known. Moreover, he is also according to the criteria of Ibn Ḥibbān, and he included him in "Thiqāt" (8/300). He was followed by Yaḥyá ibn Ṣāliḥ: Muḥammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Ṭāʾī narrated to us... with this. It was also narrated by al-Bazzār. And Yaḥyá is trustworthy. He was followed by Junādah ibn Marwān al-Raqqī: Muḥammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Ṭāʾī narrated to us. It was also narrated by al-Ḥākim if it is preserved.
