Faḍīl ibn Faḍālah al-Qaysī al-Baṣrī. He narrated from Abū Rajāʾ and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakrah, and Shuʿbah narrated from him. He is trustworthy, and Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (3/2/74) from his father: Shaykh. This is closer to his level than the first, for he narrates from the Followers as you see, and that one from the Companions. Then he is a Basran like his shaykh Abū Ḥarb. And Allāh knows best. He was followed by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Raqāshī from his grandfather ʿAbd al-Malik from Abū Ḥarb ibn Abī al-Aswad al-Dīlī who said: and he mentioned it in brief. It was also recorded by al-Ḥākim through the route of Abū Qilābah ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Muḥammad al-Raqāshī: Abū ʿĀṣim narrated to us, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Raqāshī narrated it. He said: "This is a ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth from Abū Ḥarb ibn Abī al-Aswad, for Yazīd ibn Ṣuhayb and Faḍl ibn Faḍālah narrated from him in one isnād." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Then he presented it from the previous route, and al-Raqāshī was contradicted in his isnād, and he is weak due to his memory. Abū Yaʿlá said in "Musnad" (1/191-192): Abū Yūsuf Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, Abū ʿĀṣim informed us about ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Muslim al-Raqāshī from his grandfather ʿAbd al-Malik from Abū Jarū al-Māzinī who said: I witnessed ʿAlī and al-Zubayr with it in brief. And this Abū Yūsuf is the trustworthy al-Dūrqī. His narration is more reliable than that of al-Raqāshī, and he was followed by Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Raqāshī narrated to us, my grandfather narrated to me from Abū Jarū al-Māzinī with it. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim. Thus, this favors the narration of Abū Yūsuf al-Dūrqī
