I once entered with ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr upon ʿĀʾishah, and she said: if you had seen the Prophet of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) one day during his illness, she said: and he had with me six dinars - Mūsá said - or seven, she said: the Prophet of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ordered me to distribute them, she said: but the illness of the Prophet of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) occupied me until Allāh cured him. She said: then he asked me about them and said: what happened to the six? He said: or the seven? I said: By Allāh, your illness had occupied me. She said: so he called for them, then placed them in his hand, and said: he mentioned it, without saying: "Spend them." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (2141) and Aḥmad (6/104). I say: its chain is authentic as with the previous, its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for Mūsá ibn Jubayr, who is the Anṣārī from Medina, and a group of trustworthy narrators have reported from him, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "Thiqāt" (7/451) and said: "He used to err and contradict." The third: from Yaʿqūb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: my father narrated to me from his father or ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh - Yaʿqūb was uncertain - from ʿĀʾishah who said: eight dirhams came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) after nightfall, and he remained standing and sitting, unable to sleep, until he heard a beggar asking, so he left from me and as soon as he entered, I heard his snoring. When morning came, I said: O Messenger of Allāh, I saw you at the beginning of the night standing and sitting, unable to sleep until you left from me, and as soon as you entered, I heard your snoring? He said: Yes, eight dirhams came to the Messenger of Allāh after nightfall, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) did not think... the ḥadīth, without the addition. It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd. And its men are trustworthy except for the father of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, whom Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned (3/2/300), and said:
