and likewise said al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (5/217). And I say: Salamah ibn Wuharām is similar to him. However, the ḥadīth has supporting evidence from the narration of Abū Ḥamzah al-ʿAṭṭār Isḥāq ibn al-Rabīʿ: from al-Ḥasan from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "He is not one of us who practices augury or for whom augury is practiced, or who practices divination or for whom divination is practiced, or who practices magic or for whom magic is practiced, and whoever ties a knot, or says a knot is tied, and whoever goes to a soothsayer and believes what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muḥammad." It was produced by al-Bazzār who said: "Some of it has been narrated from other routes, but as for its entirety and wording, we do not know it except from ʿImrān through this route, and Abū Ḥamzah is a Basran and there is no harm in him." Al-Mundhirī said (4/52): "Al-Bazzār narrated it with a good isnād, and al-Ṭabarānī narrated it from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās without his saying: 'And whoever goes...' etc., with a ḥasan isnād." Thus he said, but it is refuted by the weakness of Zamaʿah, unless he means it is ḥasan due to other supporting evidence, then yes. Al-Haythamī said: "Al-Bazzār narrated it, and its men are the men of the ṣaḥīḥ except for Isḥāq ibn al-Rabīʿ, and he is trustworthy." I say: Yes, but al-Ḥasan - who is al-Baṣrī - is a mudallis and has narrated it with ʿanʿanah, so it is good with the ḥadīth of the translation, and as for his saying: "And whoever goes...", it has many supporting evidences, and some of their isnāds are authentic, and they are produced in "al-Irwāʾ" (2066), yet despite this, it was weakened by the critic of the sunnah in his commentary on "Ighāthat al-Lahfān" (1/359) ignoring its authentic isnād. The takhrīj of the ḥadīth has already been presented under number (2195), so I deemed it appropriate to repeat it for additional benefit.
