(183) it is also in "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Adab al-Mufrad" under number (773 / 986) and has been recently published, and in "Ṣaḥīḥ Zawāʾid Ibn Ḥibbān" ( ... / 1931) and is currently being printed. In its meaning are the ḥadīths that command the spreading of peace, some of which have been previously mentioned under numbers (184, 569, and 1493). The other benefit: we learn it from the adherence of the Companions to it. It is the recitation of Sūrah al-ʿAṣr because we believe that they are the furthest from introducing into the religion an act of worship to draw closer to Allāh, unless it is by the guidance of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) through his words, actions, or approvals. Why not, when Allāh has praised them with the best praise, saying: * "And the first forerunners among the Muhājirīn and the Anṣār and those who followed them with good conduct—Allāh is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment" * (Sūrah al-Tawbah, 100). Ibn Masʿūd and al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī said: "Whoever among you wishes to follow a path, let him follow the path of the Companions of Muḥammad (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), for they were the most righteous of this ummah in heart, the deepest in knowledge, the least pretentious, the most upright in guidance, and the best in condition. They were people chosen by Allāh for the companionship of His Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and the establishment of His religion, so recognize their virtue and follow them in their footsteps, for they were upon the straight guidance." (١٨٣) وهو في "صحيح الأدب المفرد" برقم (٧٧٣ / ٩٨٦) وقد صدر حديثا وفي "صحيح زوائد ابن حبان" ( ... / ١٩٣١) وهو تحت الطبع. وفي معناه الأحاديث الآمرة بإفشاء السلام، وقد تقدم بعضها برقم (١٨٤ و ٥٦٩ و ١٤٩٣). والأخرى: نستفيدها من التزام الصحابة لها. وهي قراءة سورة (العصر) لأننا نعتقد أنهم أبعد الناس عن أن يحدثوا في الدين عبادة يتقربون بها إلى الله، إلا أن يكون ذلك بتوقيف من رسول الله ﷺ قولا أو فعلا أو تقريرا، ولم لا وقد أثنى الله ﵎ عليهم أحسن الثناء، فقال: * (والسابقون الأولون من المهاجرين والأنصار والذين اتبعوهم بإحسان رضي الله عنهم ورضوا عنه وأعد لهم جنات تجري تحتها الأنهار خالدين فيها أبدا ذلك الفوز العظيم) * (١). وقال ابن مسعود والحسن البصري: "من كان منكم متأسيا فليتأس بأصحاب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، فإنهم كانوا أبر هذه الأمة قلوبا وأعمقها علما وأقلها تكلفا وأقومها هديا وأحسنها حالا، قوما اختارهم الله لصحبة نبيه ﷺ وإقامة دينه، فاعرفوا لهم فضلهم، واتبعوهم في آثارهم، فإنهم كانوا على الهدي المستقيم" (٢)
