Muslim al-Shāmī al-Anṣārī - the freedman of Asmāʾ bint Yazīd, and he was mentioned by al-Bukhārī and Ibn Abī Ḥātim through the narration of another group of trustworthy narrators, and they did not mention any criticism or commendation about him. Ibn Ḥibbān included him in "al-Thiqāt" (3/255). I said: someone like him is used as evidence among the Tābiʿīn, especially since his ḥadīth has many supporting narrations, including what was narrated by al-Ḥasan ibn Sufyān from Ḥabīb ibn Hurm ibn al-Ḥārith al-Sulamī from his uncle al-Ḥakam ibn al-Ḥārith al-Sulamī, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Whoever leaves a dinar, it is a single share, and whoever leaves two dinars, it is two shares." This is how it was mentioned in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr," and in "Asad al-Ghābah" (2/31) from the aforementioned Ḥabīb, he said: "My uncle's stipend was two thousand, and when his stipend was given, he would say to so-and-so: Go and settle what we owe, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: ..." and he mentioned it. And he said: "The three narrated it." Meaning: Ibn Mandah, Abū Nuʿaym, and Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr, except that he specified in "al-Muqaddimah" (1/5) that he means the name, not the ḥadīth! So it should not be understood from this that the three narrated the ḥadīth according to him, especially since Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr did not mention it in his book "al-Istīʿāb." And Ḥabīb ibn Hurm was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim through the narration of Abū Janāb ʿAwn ibn Dhakwān al-Jarshī from him from his uncle. And he did not mention any criticism or commendation about him. Likewise, Ibn Ḥibbān included him in "al-Thiqāt" (3/39). Among the supporting narrations of the ḥadīth is what was narrated by al-Ṭayālisī (357) and others from ʿĀṣim ibn Bahdalah from Zur from ʿAbd Allāh (meaning Ibn Masʿūd) who said:
