It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/119/2) and he said: "No one narrated it from Ibn Jurayj except Muḥammad ibn Yazīd, and Aḥmad ibn Abī Bazzah was unique in narrating it." I said: al-Dhahabī said: "He is an imam in recitation, reliable in it, but weak in ḥadīth." Al-Haythamī did not recognize him, so he said (3/221): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and in it is Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Qāsim ibn Abī Bazzah, whom I do not know." I said: He is mentioned in "al-Mīzān" and "al-Lisān" (1/283-284). As for the ḥadīth of Bishr ibn Qudāmah al-Ḍabbābī, it is narrated by Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥakam: Abnā Saʿīd ibn Bashīr al-Qurashī: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥakīm al-Kattānī - a man from the people of Yemen from their freedmen - told me from him, he said: My eyes saw the beloved of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) standing at ʿArafāt with the people, on a red camel of his, under him was a Polish quilt, and he was saying: (he mentioned it), and the people were saying: This is the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). Saʿīd ibn Bashīr said: I asked ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥakīm, I said: O Abū Ḥakīm: What is al-Qaṣwāʾ? He said: I think it is the one with clipped ears, for camels have their ears clipped to be heard. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī in "his Sunan" (4/332-333) and al-Dhahabī in "al-Mīzān" in the biography of al-Qurashī, and he said: "Ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakam was unique in narrating it." I said: He is a trustworthy Egyptian jurist and memorizer. But his teacher al-Qurashī, Ibn Abī Ḥātim (2/1/8) said about his father:
