"People are of four types and deeds are of six kinds. As for people: 1 - One who is given abundance in this world and the hereafter, 2 - One who is given abundance in this world but restricted in the hereafter, 3 - One who is restricted in this world but given abundance in the hereafter, 4 - One who is wretched in both this world and the hereafter. As for deeds: 1 and 2 - are obligatory, 3 and 4 - are like for like, 5 - are tenfold, 6 - are seven hundredfold. 1 and 2 - The obligatory: Whoever dies as a Muslim believer without associating anything with Allāh, Paradise is obligatory for him. And whoever dies as a disbeliever, Hellfire is obligatory for him. 3 and 4 - Whoever intends to do a good deed but does not do it, and Allāh knows that he has felt it in his heart and was keen on it, a good deed is recorded for him. And whoever intends to do a bad deed, it is not recorded against him, and if he does it, it is recorded as one, and it is not multiplied against him. 5 - Whoever does a good deed, it is recorded for him tenfold. 6 - Whoever spends in the way of Allāh, it is recorded for him seven hundredfold." Narrated by Aḥmad (4/345) and Ibn Ḥibbān (31) from Shaybān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān,
