I am able to do whatever I wish. (In another narration: All-Powerful). It was recorded by Muslim (1/119-120), Ibn Khuzaymah in "al-Tawḥīd" (p. 207), Aḥmad (1/410-411), Abū Yaʿlá (3/1235-1236), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3/48/2) through various chains from Ḥammād ibn Salamah, who narrated from Thābit, from Anas, from Ibn Masʿūd, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The other narration is by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī. In a narration from the path of ʿUbaydah from ʿAbdullāh, reported as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with a similar but shorter version, it includes: "He said to him: Wish. So he wishes, and it is said to him: You have what you wished for and ten times the world. He said: Are you mocking me while you are the King? ... " the ḥadīth. It was recorded by Muslim, Aḥmad (1/378-379), and al-Tirmidhī (2/98) and he authenticated it. (Note): The statement of Allāh, the Exalted, at the end of the ḥadīth: "but I am able to do whatever I wish or All-Powerful" indicates the error in what was mentioned in the commentary on "al-ʿAqīdah al-Ṭaḥāwiyyah" (p. 20), quoting some esteemed scholars: "It appears in the speech of some people: and He is All-Powerful over whatever He wishes, and this is not correct..". So I say: Rather, it is precisely correct after it has been established in this ḥadīth, especially as it is supported by His saying: *"and He is All-Powerful to gather them whenever He wishes"* (al-Shūrā: 29) and this does not contradict the generality of His will and power, as was imagined by the one referred to, and Allāh knows best.
ما أشاء قادر. (وفي رواية: قدير) . أخرجه مسلم (١ / ١١٩ - ١٢٠) وابن خزيمة في " التوحيد " (ص ٢٠٧) وأحمد (١/ ٤١٠ - ٤١١) وأبو يعلى (٣ / ١٢٣٥ - ١٢٣٦) والطبراني في " الكبير " (٣ /٤٨ / ٢) من طرق عن حماد بن سلمة حدثنا ثابت عن أنس عن ابن مسعود أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: فذكره. والرواية الأخرى لأحمد والطبراني. وفي رواية من طريق عبيدة عن عبد الله مرفوعا نحوه مختصرا، وفيه: " فقال له: تمن. فيتمنى، فيقال له: لك الذي تمنيت وعشرة أضعاف الدنيا. قال: فيقول: أتسخر بي وأنت الملك؟ ... " الحديث. أخرجه مسلم، وأحمد (١ / ٣٧٨ - ٣٧٩) والترمذي (٢ / ٩٨) وصححه. (تنبيه) : دل قوله تعالى في آخر الحديث: "ولكني على ما أشاء قادر أو قدير " على خطأ ما جاء في التعليق على " العقيدة الطحاوية " (ص ٢٠) نقلا عن بعض الأفاضل: " يجيء في كلام بعض الناس: وهو على ما يشاء قدير، وليس بصواب.. ". فأقول: بل هو عين الصواب بعد ثبوت ذلك في هذا الحديث، لاسيما ويشهد له قوله تعالى: * (وهو على جمعهم إذا يشاء قدير) * (الشورى: ٢٩) وذلك لا ينافي عموم مشيئته وقدرته تعالى كما توهم المشار إليه، والله أعلم.
- "None of you will enter Paradise by his deeds [nor will he be saved from the Fire], they said: Not even you, O Messenger of Allāh? He said: Not even I - [and he gestured like this over his head:] - except if Allāh envelops me with His grace and mercy, [twice or thrice] [so aim for what is right and come close] [and receive glad tidings] [and start in the morning and the evening, and something from the night journey, and moderation, moderation, you will reach your goal] [and know that the most beloved deed to Allāh is the most consistent, even if it is little]". It was reported by a group of Companions (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhum), among them: Abū Hurayrah, ʿĀʾishah, Jābir, Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and Usāmah ibn Sharīk
- " لن يدخل أحدا منكم عمله الجنة [ولا ينجيه من النار] ، قالوا: ولا أنت يا رسول الله؟ قال: ولا أنا -[وأشار بيده هكذا على رأسه:]- إلا أن يتغمدني الله منه بفضل ورحمة، [مرتين أو ثلاثا] [فسددوا وقاربوا] [وأبشروا] [واغدوا وروحوا، وشيء من الدلجة، والقصد القصد تبلغوا] [واعلموا أن أحب العمل إلى الله أدومه وإن قل] ". ورد عن جمع من الصحابة ﵃، منهم: أبو هريرة وعائشة وجابر وأبو سعيد الخدري وأسامة بن شريك.
