it also has other supporting narrations with Ibn Khuzaymah in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1124 - 1126), Ibn Ḥibbān (441), and al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (1/245/503, 517, and 518).

"O Allāh, grant him understanding in religion and teach him interpretation." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (3/164/2) and from him by Abū ʿAlī al-Ṣawwāf in "al-Fawāʾid" (3/166-167), and it was narrated by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (226/2) with two isnāds from Shibl ibn ʿAbbād, from Sulaymān al-Aḥwal, from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ʿAbbās: that he poured water for the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) for ablution at his aunt Maymūnah's place. When he came out, he asked, "Who prepared my ablution water?" She said, "My sister's son, O Messenger of Allāh." He then mentioned it. al-Ḍiyāʾ said: "Our intention with this ḥadīth is: 'and teach him interpretation,' as for his saying: 'grant him understanding in religion,' it was recorded in the two Ṣaḥīḥs." Then he recorded it (233 - 234) and al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil" (Vol. 2, Chapter on what was narrated about his supplication for Ibn ʿAbbās) and Aḥmad (1/266, 314, 328, and 335) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr with it. Similarly, it was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (3/84/2) and its isnād is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. Then al-Ḍiyāʾ said: "They did not record: 'and teach him interpretation,' and this is a good addition." I say: al-Ḥākim authenticated it (3/534) and al-Dhahabī agreed with him
