It was narrated by al-Bayhaqī (4/244), and this Ziyād is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Namīrī al-Baṣrī, who is weak; his ḥadīth is written for corroboration. 4 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ, it is narrated by al-Walīd ibn Muslim from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUbayd Allāh from Umm al-Dardāʾ from Abū al-Dardāʾ (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: "We went out with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in the month of Ramaḍān, in intense heat, to the extent that one of us would place his hand on his head due to the severity of the heat, and none of us was fasting except the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rawāḥah." It was recorded by Muslim (3/145): Dāwūd ibn Rashīd narrated to us, al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us with it. Although al-Walīd ibn Muslim is trustworthy, he practices tadlīs al-taswiyah, and he used the ambiguous form for the entire isnād. However, Abū Dāwūd included it in his "Sunan" (1/378): Muʾammal ibn al-Faḍl narrated to us, al-Walīd narrated to us, Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz narrated to us... and he presented it in sequence with direct narration for all the narrators except for Umm al-Dardāʾ, where he said: from Abū al-Dardāʾ with it. However, he said: "in some of his battles" and did not say "in the month of Ramaḍān." This is the correct view according to me, that the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ does not include "in the month of Ramaḍān," due to several reasons: First, although Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz is trustworthy, he became confused before his death as Abū Mus-hir said, and there is a discrepancy in his statement "in the month of Ramaḍān." Al-Walīd ibn Muslim affirmed it in the narration of Dāwūd ibn Rashīd from him, but did not affirm it in the narration of Muʾammal ibn al-Faḍl, who is trustworthy.
