On the authority of Anas, the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "There is no Muslim who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, a person, or an animal eats from it, except that it is considered charity for him." Narrated by al-Bukhārī (2/67 European edition) and Muslim (5/2).

And Aḥmad (3/147). - On the authority of Jābir in a marfūʿ form: "There is no Muslim who plants a tree except that whatever is eaten from it is charity for him, whatever is stolen from it is charity for him, whatever a wild animal eats from it is charity for him, whatever the birds eat is charity for him, and no one diminishes or takes from it except that it is charity for him (until the Day of Resurrection)." (On the authority of Jābir): Narrated by Muslim from him. Then it was narrated by him and Aḥmad (3/391) through other chains with some abridgment, and it has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Umm Mubashshir with Muslim and Aḥmad (6/362 and 240), and it has other supporting narrations mentioned by al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" (3/224 and 245).
