Ibn al-ʿAyzār from Abū Umāmah with it in an extended form, mentioning the glorification, praise, magnification, and declaration of the oneness of Allāh, concluding with his saying: "Say them, O Abū Umāmah, and teach them to your descendants, for they are better than your remembrance of Allāh by night and by day." It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī under number (131). Al-Ḥasan ibn Abī Jaʿfar is weak, as stated by the ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taqrīb." The ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" similar to the ḥadīth of the translation and more complete than it, and he said: (2/253): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā with his wording, and al-Nasāʾī, and Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Ḥibbān in their 'Ṣaḥīḥ' collections in abridged form, and al-Ḥākim, who said: It is authentic according to the conditions of the two shaykhs, and it was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with two isnāds, one of which is ḥasan..."

- "Is my father among the people?" It was narrated by al-Ḥarbī in "al-Gharīb" (5/184/2): Aḥmad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Wakiʿ narrated to us from Sufyān from Salamah from Dharr from Ibn Abzā from his father that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) overlooked a verse, and when he prayed, he said: Is my father among the people? Ubayy said: Was such-and-such a verse abrogated or forgotten? He said: "Rather, I forgot it." I say: This isnād is authentic; all its men are reliable, the men of the two shaykhs, except for Aḥmad ibn Jaʿfar - who is al-Ḍarīr al-Wakīʿī - and he is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ with a biography in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (4/58-59)
