then it was also narrated by him and Ibn Mājah (2/356) and Aḥmad (3/487) through the route of al-Zuhrī from Abū Umāmah with a similar narration, but it does not include: "Indeed, the evil eye is true." It contains a description of ʿĀmir's washing, and with Aḥmad, the description of pouring over Sahl. It is also authentic, and the act of seeking blessing was narrated from his practice (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), so see: (when he feared), and the last part of the ḥadīth is agreed upon from the narration of Abū Hurayrah, and it has many supporting narrations, some of which were previously mentioned under numbers (1248-1251), and see the upcoming ḥadīth (2576). The ḥadīth was also narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (6/94-101) through various routes from Ibn Shihāb al-Zuhrī. He has two other routes from Abū Umāmah, one of which is through Maslamah as previously mentioned by Abū Yaʿlá.

"Walk briskly around the House so that the polytheists may see your strength." It was narrated by Aḥmad (1/373): Ruḥ told us, Ḥammād—meaning Ibn Salamah—told us from Ayyūb ibn Jubayr from Ibn ʿAbbās: that Quraysh said: "Muḥammad and his companions have been weakened by the fever of Yathrib," so when the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) arrived in the year he performed ʿumrah, he said to his companions: and mentioned it. When they walked briskly, Quraysh said: "They have not been weakened." This is an authentic chain according to the criteria of Muslim. Al-Bukhārī also mentioned it in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (5/86) from Ḥammād ibn Salamah with a similar narration, and Ḥammād ibn Zayd followed him from Ayyūb with a similar narration, and its wording is: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ordered them to walk briskly for three circuits and walk between the two corners to show the polytheists their resilience, so the polytheists said: 'These are the ones you claimed the fever had weakened, these are more resilient than such and such!'"
