"it was narrated by al-Bazzār with a good isnād." it appears that he also made an error regarding Ḥumayd. however, the ḥadīth has a strong supporting narration from Abū Najīḥ al-Sulamī, raised to the Prophet with the wording: "Whoever grows a gray hair in the path of Allāh, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever shoots an arrow, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection..." the ḥadīth. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī in "his Sunan" (9/161) with a sound isnād. The first part of it is also with al-Nasāʾī (2/59) through two other routes, as well as Aḥmad (4/113), and one of his isnāds is also sound. Then "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" was published, and I saw that he included ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Faḍl ibn al-Muwaffaq (8/382) and mentioned that al-Ḥaḍramī and the people of Iraq narrated from him, and the narration of al-Ḥaḍramī—who is one of the teachers of al-Ṭabarānī—is in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" as in my book "Taysīr Intifāʿ al-Khillān," may Allāh facilitate its completion.
"Whoever is wounded in the path of Allāh will come on the Day of Resurrection with the scent of musk and the color of saffron, bearing the seal of the martyrs. Whoever sincerely asks Allāh for martyrdom, Allāh will grant him the reward of a martyr even if he dies in his bed." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1615 - Mawārid) through the route of Ibn Thawbān from his father, from Makhūl, from Kathīr ibn Murrah, from Mālik ibn Yukhamir al-Saksakī that Muʿādh ibn Jabal said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, and it was also recorded by Abū Dāwūd (2541) from this route similarly, except for the statement: "even if he dies in his bed."
