it was recorded by Aḥmad (6/85): Abū al-Yamān narrated to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from al-Awzāʿī from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Qāsim from his father from ʿĀʾishah: that a contracted servant of hers came to her with the remainder of his contract, and she said to him: "You will not enter upon me again except after fulfilling this, so engage in jihād in the path of Allāh, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say:" and she mentioned it. I said: And this is a sound isnād, all its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh, and he is trustworthy in his narrations from the people of Shām, and this is among them. al-Mundhirī said (2/168) and was followed by al-Haythamī (5/276): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and its narrators are trustworthy." I said: And it was also recorded by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim (folio 84/2) through the route of Suwayd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz: al-Awzāʿī narrated it. I said: And I found another route for it that may strengthen and support it, as al-Ṭabarānī said in "al-Awsaṭ" (2/124-125 - Islamic University microfilm): Hushaym ibn Khalaf narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn ʿAmmār al-Mawṣilī narrated to us, al-Qāsim ibn Yazīd al-Jarmī narrated to us from Ṣadaqah ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Dimashqī from Ibn Jurayj from Muḥammad ibn Ziyād al-Madanī from Furāt, the freed slave of ʿĀʾishah, who said: ʿĀʾishah said: and she mentioned it in a similar elevated form.
