- "O people! Do not elevate me above my status, for Allāh made me a servant before He made me a prophet." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/179) through the route of ʿAlī ibn Qādim: ʿAbd al-Salām ibn Ḥarb narrated to us from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd who said: We were with ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn when a group from the people of Kūfah came. ʿAlī said: O people of Iraq, love us with the love of Islam. I heard my father say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I mentioned it to Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib, and he said: And after He made him a prophet. He said: "The isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: It is as they said.

- "There is no day on which Allāh frees more servants from the Fire than the Day of ʿArafah. He draws near, then boasts about them to the angels, saying: What do these want?" It was recorded by Muslim (4/107), al-Nasāʾī (2/44) and also in "al-Kubrā" (Q 83/1), Ibn Mājah (3014), al-Dāraquṭnī in "his Sunan" (p. 289), as well as al-Bayhaqī (5/118) and Ibn ʿAsākir in the section "The Virtue of ʿArafah" (Q 2/2), all from the route of Makhramah ibn Bukayr from his father who said: I heard Yūnus ibn Yūsuf narrating from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from ʿĀʾishah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it
