- "Indeed, when Allāh is entrusted with something, He preserves it." This was narrated by al-Nasāʾī in "ʿAmal al-Yawm" (509), Ibn Ḥibbān (2376 - al-Mawārid), al-Bayhaqī (9/173), al-Ṭabarānī (3/206/2), and ʿAlī ibn al-Mufaḍḍal al-Maqdisī in "al-Arbaʿīn fī Faḍl al-Duʿāʾ wa-al-Dāʿīn" (5/250/1) from Muḥammad ibn ʿĀʾidh al-Dimashqī: al-Haytham ibn Ḥumayd informed us from al-Muṭṭaʿim ibn al-Miqdām from Mujāhid who said: I went out to Iraq, and ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar accompanied us. When he parted from us, he said: I have nothing to give you, but I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: (and he mentioned it), and I entrust Allāh with your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds. I said: This is a good isnād, all its men are trustworthy, with a slight weakness in al-Haytham ibn Ḥumayd. It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), narrated by ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Aḥmad Abū al-Ḥusayn in "Ḥadīth Abī Bakr ibn Abī al-Ḥadīd" (p. 191/2) from Nahshal al-Ḍabbī from Abū Ghālib or Abū Qazaʿah or from both of them from him as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: This is how I found it in my handwriting from the mentioned source, and it seems that there is an omission and addition, for it was also narrated by Imām Aḥmad (2/87) through the route of Sufyān from Nahshal ibn Mujammaʿ from Qazaʿah from Ibn ʿUmar who said: "Indeed, Luqmān the Wise used to say: (and he mentioned the ḥadīth of the translation) and once Nahshal said from Qazaʿah or from Abū Ghālib." Then Aḥmad narrated it from another route from Sufyān: Nahshal ibn Mujammaʿ al-Ḍabbī informed me - he said: and he was considered reliable - from Qazaʿah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) informed us that Luqmān ... the ḥadīth.
