Abū Dāwūd said: "There is no harm in him, a righteous man." al-ʿAjlī said: "His ḥadīth is written, and there is weakness in it." The ḥāfiẓ criticized it in "al-Taʿjīl" due to the disconnection between al-Ḥanafī and Abū Hurayrah, and from what has been mentioned, it becomes clear that al-Mundhirī's statement (1/183): "Aḥmad narrated it with a good isnād," is incorrect. Similarly, the statement of al-ʿIrāqī in "Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ" (1/132): "Its isnād is authentic." al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (2/120): "Aḥmad narrated it from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zayd al-Ḥanafī from Abū Hurayrah, and I did not find anyone who translated him." I said: What is in "al-Musnad" is "ʿAbd Allāh ibn Badr" as previously mentioned, and the ḥāfiẓ also transmitted it from "al-Musnad," so it appears that there was a transcription error for al-Haythamī, or it occurred in his copy of "al-Musnad." And Allāh knows best. In summary, the most authentic version of the ḥadīth is that it is from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Badr from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAlī ibn Shaybān from his father, elevated with the wording: "There is no prayer for the one who does not straighten his back in bowing and prostration." However, the ḥadīth of the translation has a supporting narration from ʿAlī ibn Zayd from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Anas, elevated in a ḥadīth. It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá (3/914-916)
