ʿIkrimah is better than him, even if there is criticism against him, and it suffices that Muslim relied upon him. However, he was followed by Mulāzim ibn ʿAmr, who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Badr narrated to us that ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAlī narrated to him that his father ʿAlī ibn Shaybān narrated to him: that he went as a delegate to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and said: We prayed behind the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he glanced with the corner of his eye at a man who was not straightening his back in bowing and prostration. When the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) finished, he said: "O assembly of Muslims! There is no prayer for the one who does not straighten his back in bowing and prostration." It was recorded by Aḥmad, Ibn Mājah, Ibn Khuzaymah (593), and Ibn Ḥibbān (500). And this Mulāzim is trustworthy without any notable disagreement, so his narration is more reliable than the narration of ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, especially since Aḥmad said: Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd preferred him over ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār and said: He is more reliable in ḥadīth than him. However, it is possible to say: It is conceivable that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Badr had two isnāds for the ḥadīth, one from Ṭalq ibn ʿAlī, and the other from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAlī ibn Shaybān from his father. So ʿIkrimah narrated the first from him, and Mulāzim the latter. And Allāh knows best. ʿĀmir ibn Yasāf disagreed with all of them and said: Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr narrated to us from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Badr al-Ḥanafī from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ form similar to the ḥadīth of the chapter. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/525). I say: Its narrators are trustworthy except for ʿĀmir ibn Yasāf, in whom there is weakness. Ibn ʿAdī said: "He is denounced in ḥadīth from trustworthy narrators, and despite his weakness, his ḥadīth is written."
