"we do not know anyone who narrated it from ʿAṭāʾ from Abū Hurayrah except Ḥumayd, and he is weak." I said: He is Ḥumayd al-Makkī, the client of Ibn ʿAlqamah, and he is not Ibn Qays al-Aʿraj al-Makkī as in "al-Tahdhīb," and he is unknown as stated in "al-Taqrīb." There is another supporting narration, narrated by Ibn Lahīʿah: Yaḥyá ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to me that Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥublī narrated to him from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent a detachment, and they gained spoils and returned quickly..." The ḥadīth was recorded by Aḥmad (2/175). I said: Its isnād is good, for its narrators are trustworthy despite the weakness in Ibn Lahīʿah, but he was followed by Ibn Wahb as recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" as in "al-Majmaʿ" (2/235), and therefore al-Mundhirī said (1/235): "Aḥmad narrated it from the narration of Ibn Lahīʿah, and al-Ṭabarānī with a good isnād."

- "Indeed, Allāh and His angels send blessings upon those who complete the rows, and whoever fills a gap, Allāh raises him a degree." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (995) and Aḥmad (6/89) through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād has trustworthy narrators, except that Ibn ʿAyyāsh was weakened in his narrations from the people of Madīnah, and this is one of them. However, he has been followed. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/67 and 160), Ibn Khuzaymah (1550), Ibn Ḥibbān (1511), ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd (394), and al-Ḥākim (1/214) through the route of Usāmah ibn Zayd
