it was reported as a statement attributed to him without being elevated to the Prophet, but it holds the status of an elevated report because it is not said based on mere opinion, with the possibility of it being from the Israelite traditions. I said: Its chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and it was mentioned by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Durr al-Manthūr" (6/245) also as a statement attributed to him, and he said: "It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá and al-Bayhaqī with an authentic chain from Abū Hurayrah." Then he attributed it to ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd from Abū Hurayrah also as a statement attributed to him in a similar manner. Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said in "al-Maṭālib al-ʿĀliyah" (3/390): "Authentic as a statement attributed to him." Al-Haythamī said (9/218): "Its narrators are those of the authentic collections." It has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Salmān (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: The wife of Pharaoh was tortured under the sun, and when they left her, the angels shaded her with their wings, and she would see her house in Paradise. It was narrated by al-Ṭabarī in "Tafsīr" (28/110) and al-Ḥākim (2/496) who said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. Al-Suyūṭī also attributed it to Ibn Abī Shaybah, ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd, Ibn al-Mundhir, and al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān." I said: Then "Shuʿab al-Īmān" was printed, and I saw that he narrated it (2/244/1637) through two chains from Yazīd ibn Hārūn: Sulaimān al-Taymī informed us from Abū ʿUthmān from Salmān, also as a statement attributed to him
