she said: "Rather, I will be patient, and I will not risk Paradise." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (132/502) through the narration of ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ from him, and its isnād is authentic. It seems that this is another story different from the first due to the difference in the illness; in this one, it is fever, and in that one, it is madness, which is insanity. It is also possible that they are the same, and the fever was so severe that it resembled madness in its intensity. And Allāh knows best.

"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness afflicts a believer, even the worry that concerns him, except that it expiates some of his sins." It was recorded by Muslim (8/16), al-Tirmidhī (1/181), Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "al-Kaffārāt" (69/1 and 76/1), and Aḥmad (3/4, 24, 61, and 81) through various chains from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn ʿAṭāʾ from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Saʿīd and Abū Hurayrah that they heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it, with the context being from Muslim and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in one narration, while the others did not mention Abū Hurayrah in its isnād. Al-Tirmidhī said: "except that Allāh expiates some of his sins," without saying "from," which is anomalous, as Usāmah ibn Zayd uniquely reported it without the other chains, although it is with Aḥmad from his route with the wording: "from his sins." This is the preserved version. Likewise, it was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Marḍ" (10/91 - Fatḥ) from the same perspective from both of them together, except that he did not mention (disease), and instead said: "worry nor distress, even a thorn that pricks him, except that Allāh expiates from his sins," and it is a narration for Aḥmad (2/202, 335, and 3/18, 48). There is another route for the ḥadīth with a concise wording that was mentioned under number (2410)
