the ḥadīths have been transmitted in succession regarding this, such as the ḥadīth of the woman from Khathʿam and the ḥadīth of the daughter of Hubayrah, among others mentioned in "Jilbāb al-Marʾah" and "Ādāb al-Zafāf." I say: if nothing could be seen of women at that time except this, then there is no doubt that the command to lower the gaze is even more emphasized in this era, where there exist "clothed yet naked women," about whom the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Two types of the people of Hell I have not seen yet..." the ḥadīth, and in it: "women who are clothed yet naked, swaying and causing others to sway, with heads like the humps of camels, they will not enter Paradise..." the ḥadīth. It has been previously mentioned in full with its sourcing under number (1326). Therefore, it is obligatory for every Muslim—especially the youth among them—to lower their gaze and avoid looking at provocative images that stir their souls and awaken their hidden desires. They should hasten to early marriage to protect themselves, and if they cannot, then they should fast, for it is a shield as he (ʿalayhi al-ṣalātu wa-al-salām) said, and it is an authentic ḥadīth sourced in "al-Irwāʾ" (1781). They should not resort to masturbation (the secret habit) instead of fasting, lest they be like those whom Allāh described among the condemned: *"Would you exchange what is better for what is lesser?"* (al-Baqarah: 61). I ask Allāh, the Exalted, to employ us and the Muslims in His obedience and to turn us away from what displeases Him of disobedience. Indeed, He is Hearing and Responsive.
