my old project "Bringing the Sunnah Closer to the Ummah," in which I spent my youth, devoted my middle age, and now complete in my old age, asking Allāh—exalted in His majesty—that I be among those of whom the Messenger (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "The best of you are those whose lives are long and whose deeds are good," hoping from Him—glorious is His status—for a good end and to die in faith. In conclusion, I must not fail to fulfill the duty of gratitude to my eldest daughter (Umm ʿAbd Allāh), for she has the credit for facilitating the correction of the proofs of this volume, and for drawing attention to many matters that any author might overlook, especially one who has reached the age of eighty, such as the omission of a word or sentence, or drawing attention to the repeated citation of a ḥadīth, or the incompleteness of commentary on it, and the like. May Allāh reward her on my behalf with the best reward. Likewise, brother ʿAlī al-Ḥalabī, from whose observations I benefited, which he wrote on the original manuscript in my handwriting, some of which was written decades ago, or which he wrote on some of the proofs he had the opportunity to review. To him and to everyone who had a hand in producing and publishing the volume under the supervision of my son-in-law Niẓām Sakjahā, owner of the Islamic Library in Amman, my deepest thanks.
