and by Aḥmad (2/23, 40, 72, 140, 143) with the context being his in one narration, as well as by Muslim, and in one of al-Bukhārī's narrations: "while he was on the pulpit... pointing towards the east." In another: "he stood beside the pulpit and said..." In another by Aḥmad: "he prayed the dawn prayer, then faced the rising sun and said..." Its isnād is authentic. In another by him and Muslim, through the route of ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār from Sālim, with the wording: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came out of ʿĀʾishah's house and said: "The head of disbelief is from here..." However, ʿIkrimah is weak in terms of his memory, so he is not relied upon in what contradicts the trustworthy narrators. In another by Aḥmad, he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) pointing with his hand towards Iraq: 'Behold, the tribulation...'" the ḥadīth in its entirety. It is a narration for Muslim. Another narration supports it from him through the route of Ibn Faḍīl from his father, who said: I heard Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar say: O people of Iraq! How little I ask you about the small sins, yet how much you commit the great ones! I heard my father ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar say: and he mentioned it as marfūʿ.
