It was recorded by Muslim (7/76), Abū Dāwūd (3126), Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (4/245/2891), al-Bayhaqī (4/69), Aḥmad (3/194), Ibn Saʿd (1/136), Abū Yaʿlá (6/42/3288), and al-Bukhārī referenced it in "al-Janāʾiz" following another of his narrations (1303) in a shortened form without the full wording. Thus, al-Suyūṭī's attribution in "al-Jāmiʿ" of the Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saying: "A boy was born to me tonight..." to al-Bukhārī is evidently questionable, although al-Ghumārī followed him in this in his "Kanz" as is his habit, and al-Munāwī did not notice it. This portion of the ḥadīth was recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/454). (Note): The omission of ʿAmr ibn Saʿīd's transmission of the ḥadīth of the translation was overlooked by the esteemed commentator on "Musnad Abī Yaʿlá" when he said: "Its isnād is authentic." Then he attributed it to Muslim and others. It is necessary to distinguish between the ḥadīth of the translation and what preceded it as previously explained. Given this situation, it is essential to extract a supporting witness to strengthen it, which is the ḥadīth of al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib who said: "Ibrāhīm, the son of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), passed away at sixteen months, and he said: 'Bury him in al-Baqīʿ, for he has a wet nurse who will complete his nursing in Paradise.'" It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/297 and 304) and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (1/215/1) with an authentic isnād according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and by Abū Yaʿlá (1696) with another isnād from him, authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. It is also in "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī" (1382, 3255, and 6195) and others from a third route from him, similar to it, without the first part of it, and it is extracted in "al-Silsilah al-Ukhra" under ḥadīth (3202). It contains additional parts, some of which are not authentic; I extracted it there, distinguishing what is authentic from what is not, and I mentioned this among what is authentic, and with Allāh is success
