It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/175), Ibn Jarīr (6/199), and al-Ḥākim (2/313) through the route of al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUbayd from Saʿīd al-Jurayrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq from ʿĀʾishah, who said: and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A strange ḥadīth" and some of them narrated this ḥadīth from al-Jurayrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq, saying: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was guarded ... and they did not mention in it: from ʿĀʾishah." I said: And this is more correct, because al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUbayd - who is Abū Qudāmah al-Iyādī - has a weakness in terms of his memory, as indicated by the ḥāfiẓ who said: "Truthful but makes mistakes."
