(4/111): "and it is narrated from Umm Ayman... narrated by Ibn Mājah and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in 'The Book of Hunger' and others." This is one of his errors. Al-Būṣīrī said in 'Al-Zawāʾid' (225/1): "I said: Umm Ayman has no ḥadīth in Ibn Mājah except this one, and another in 'Funerals', and she has no narration in any of the five main collections. The men of its isnād are reliable, Yaʿqūb is disputed, and so is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh." Thus he said, and Ḥanash ibn ʿAbd Allāh is trustworthy without any known disagreement, and therefore al-Ḥāfiẓ in 'Al-Taqrīb' affirmed that he is trustworthy. The one disputed is Ḥanash ibn al-Muʿtamir, so perhaps he confused him with this. Ustādh Muḥammad Fuʾād ʿAbd al-Bāqī criticized his statement: "and she has no narration in any of the five main collections." by saying: "Rather, Muslim included for her in 44 - The Book of the Virtues of the Companions 18 - Chapter on the Virtues of Umm Ayman (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā), ḥadīth number 103, which is the ḥadīth narrated by Ibn Mājah in the Book of Funerals, number 1635." I said: This criticism is unfounded, because al-Būṣīrī's statement: "she has no narration..." means a marfūʿ narration from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as is apparent, and the ḥadīth referred to in Muslim and Ibn Mājah is merely her statement, not marfūʿ. So take note. (Benefit): The meaning of his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saying: "Return it..." is to return what you have sifted from the bran to the flour, then knead it anew.
