"By the One in whose hand is my soul, the world is more insignificant to Allāh than this is to its people. Meaning a dead sheep." Reported by Aḥmad (1/329): Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab narrated to us: al-Awzāʿī narrated from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbayd Allāh from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by a dead sheep that its people had thrown away, and he said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good in terms of supporting evidence, its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab - who is al-Qurqasānī - and the ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes many mistakes." I say: And this ḥadīth of his has many supporting evidences indicating that he preserved it, and I will mention some of them, if Allāh wills, and perhaps for this reason, al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (4/101): "Aḥmad narrated it with an isnād that is not objectionable." And al-Haythamī said (10/287): "Aḥmad, Abū Yaʿlá, and al-Bazzār narrated it, and in it is Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab who has been declared trustworthy despite his weakness, and the rest of their men are the men of the authentic collections." The ḥadīth has also been narrated by Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, al-Mustawrid ibn Shaddād, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rabīʿah al-Sulamī, Abū Hurayrah, and Sahl ibn Saʿd. 1 - As for the ḥadīth of Jābir, it is narrated by Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad from his father from him: "That the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed through the market entering from some of the highlands and the people were around him, and he passed by a dead, deformed goat, so he took it by its ear and said: Which of you would like this for a dirham? They said: We do not want it for anything, what would we do with it? He said: Do you want it for yourselves? They said: By Allāh, if it were alive, it would be a defect in it because it is deformed, so how about when it is dead? He said:
