why do you not seek what so-and-so seeks? He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: 'Ahead of you is a steep ascent, which the burdened cannot cross.' So I wish to lighten my load for that ascent." And he said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with a sound isnād." I said: Then he provided a supporting narration from Anas with a similar meaning, but its isnād is weak. I found another supporting narration with the wording: "None will cross it except every lean and emaciated one." However, its isnād is weak, and its wording is objectionable, so I included it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" under number (3176). (Mukhaf): meaning from sins and what leads to them, in "al-Nihāyah": "It is said: a man became light, so he is mukhaf, khaf, and khafīf, when his condition and his mount are light, and when he is of little weight, meaning lightened from sins, worldly causes, and their attachments."

"The likeness of the believer and death is like a man who has three friends, one of whom is his wealth, who says: Take what you wish, and another who says: I am with you, and when you die, I will leave you. And the other says: I am with you and will go out with you, so one of them is his wealth, the other is his family and children, and the other is his deeds." It was narrated by al-Bazzār (313): Muḥammad ibn Abī Marḥūm and Aḥmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us, they said: al-Naḍr ibn Shamīl narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us from Samāk ibn Ḥarb from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is ḥasan, its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, with some weakness in some of them,
